Aspiring Eagle Scout Martin Rudzis was looking for a good community service project to round out his quest to achieve Eagle rank. He contacted the Edmonds Parks Department, and Edmonds Parks Maintenance Manager Rich Lindsay had just the ticket: clearing out undergrowth around the Edmonds Public Works facility at 72nd Avenue West and 210th Street Southwest.

“I wanted my service project to benefit both the organization sponsoring it and the community at large,” said Rudzis. “This project not only helps the City of Edmonds, but will make it nicer for everyone who walk by.”

Rudzis and his fellow scouts take a quick break for cookies and a cool drink before pitching back in to clear the brush around the Edmonds Public Works Center.

  1. Congratulations to Martin for completing his Eagle project. As the mom of an Eagle I know the amount of work that goes into the path to Eagle.
