Jacobsen’s Marine celebrated its new Edmonds location at 345 Admiral Way with an open house Saturday, and co-owner Greg Jacobsen couldn’t be happier.

Jacobsen’s, which has specialized in saltwater sport fishing boats since 1951, moved its business this year to Edmonds from West Seattle, and before that had been located in Ballard.

Jacobsen was beaming as he talked about the “gravitational pull’ that drew his company to Edmonds, and the warm welcome he has received– ranging from Port of Edmond officials to people walking their dogs who have stopped by to wish him well. “This feels like home,” he told those gathered to celebrate the open house held on the same day as the company’s annual fishing derby (which, coincidentally, has always been held in Edmonds).

Pointing to the legacy of the fishing derby, Jacobsen noted that “we have 15-year-olds who’ve been fishing with us for 13 years.”
