The City of Edmonds reminds you it’s time to license your dog for 2015 — and you can do it online.
Go to www.PetData.com and enter your zip code. You can license multiple pets at the same time, and easily upload required documents. All major credit cards are accepted, and a small convenience fee will apply per transaction.
Displaying a current license tag on your pet’s collar makes it easy for animal control officers and shelter employees to quickly locate a lost pet’s owner information.
The City of Edmonds encourages spaying and neutering. License fees for sterilized dogs are $15 for a one-calendar-year license, and licenses for unsterilized dogs are $40 for a one-calendar-year license. Proof of spay or neuter is required, if applicable. Senior citizens over 65 years of age may purchase a discounted dog license if their pet is spayed or neutered. The fee for senior citizens is $5.
Your dog’s metal license tag is permanently assigned, and should be worn on the collar at all times. Please note if you are renewing your dog’s license, you will not receive a new metal license tag in 2015 unless a replacement tag is specifically ordered at time of renewal. Replacement tags are $4.
You can also purchase a license by mail or in person To license by mail, enclose a copy of your cat or dog’s current rabies certificate and any other applicable documentation, along with your check payable to City of Edmonds, and mail to Edmonds Animal Licensing, C/O PetData, PO Box 141929, Irving, TX 75014.
Dog and cat licenses may also be purchased in person at the Edmonds Police Department. Licensing cats is voluntary. Juvenile dog licenses, dogs from 3-6 months old, are $5. Cat licenses are $5 for the life of the cat, and can only be purchased at the Police Department.
Remember, all dogs over the age of 3 months must be licensed. And note thattaking time to license your dog now could save you money in the future. Beginning April 1, 2015, there will be a late fee charged for 2015 licenses.
