Port of Edmonds Commission report for Nov. 10

The Port of Edmonds Port Commission at its regular meeting Nov. 10:

  • Heard a brief presentation on the summertime music performance event at the Port: Sea Jazz. The event is a cooperative effort between the Port of Edmonds, Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary, Seattle Teen Music and the Edmonds School District. The 2015 season will mark the third successful season for the Wednesday and Sunday live performances at the Port.
  • Received a progress report on the development of the Port’s newly redesigned website.
  • Learned that the State Labor and Industries department has awarded the Port a refund of $9,459 for its record of reduced workplace injuries and lower claim costs.
  • Approved a resolution establishing the amount of property tax to be levied in 2015 to $400,000, which is no change from 2014,
  • Approved a resolution banking excess levy capacity for 2015, in accordance with state law.
  • Approved a resolution adopting the 2015 budget. A public hearing was held in late October; no objections or comments were heard. Details are posted on the Port’s website, www.portofedmonds.org.
  • Authorized a contract to replace the Port’s fuel dock supply line.

The next commission meeting will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 24, in the commission meeting room.
