Scene in Edmonds: Car crash takes out power lines on Edmonds Way

Greg Hatch sent us this photo of this one-car accident near the Westgate Chapel entrance on Edmonds Way, which occurred about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. No word yet as to the cause and whether there were injuries.
Greg Hatch sent us his photo of this one-car crash at 229th and Edmonds Way, at Westgate Chapel, which occurred about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.  The crash knocked down power lines and the roadway was closed in both directions. The driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a head injury that was not believed to be life-threatening, Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh said. The cause is under investigation.

Updated at 7 a.m. Friday:
Via Twitter, the Snohomish County PUD says the power outage resulting from the car crash affected 500 customers. “Crews on site with restoration expected later this morning. Thanks for your patience.”
