Fire investigators are on the scene of a fire in Edmonds’ Westgate neighborhood, which extensively damaged a home in the 22500 block of 93rd Place West, said Snohomish County County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes.

A man and his dog who were in the house at the time of the blaze escaped to safety. One firefighter was transported for a possible medical issue following the fire, Hynes said.

Red Cross was called to assist the homeowners, who will be displaced as a result of blaze, she added.
