Scene in Edmonds: Snowy Owl

Amy Marsh sent along this photo — taken from her backyard — of a Snowy Owl that’s been hanging around the Edmonds Bowl in the past few days:2014 owl 2

  1. Grand shots, Bill. We’ll be looking for you and all the feathered friends who pose for you on our sojourns around town. We saw the snowy owl many times two years ago on the roofs at 3rd & Edmonds. A real joy to see up close and personal…..I just wanna pet this guy on the forehead just one time…..I suppose I wouldn’t have any fingers left…..

How lucky we are here in Edmonds!

  2. The Triangle runs from Shell Creek Spit south along the waterfront to Marina Beach, east to Yost Park, then northwest back to Shell Creek Spit. Included in the Triangle are the Pt. Edwards walkway, Willow Creek Fish Hatchery, and the Edmonds marsh.

For the past two years several of us have put on a photo exhibit titled “Birds of the Birdmuda Triangle” at the Francis Anderson Center in conjunction with the annual Puget Sound Bird Fest in Edmonds.

Follow this link to see the 2013 photo exhibit which includes a map of the Triangle:

  3. There were reports on Tweeters today (Sunday 11/23) of a snowy owl spotted on the breakwater of the Edmonds Marina north of the entrance. The reports said the owl could be seen from the fishing pier.
