Two presentations — one on Ebola, the other on Islam — at Shoreline CC Wednesday

The Global Affairs Center at Shoreline Community College, directed by Edmonds resident Larry Fuell, will sponsor two presentations Wednesday, Nov. 12:

11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.

Ebola: Science, Healthcare and Personal Perspectives
· How does the disease spread?
· How to control it?
· What’s it like to be where Ebola is present?

Featuring a panel made up of Shoreline biology and nursing faculty, a student born in Nigeria, and a former Peace Corps volunteer who served recently in Liberia.

12:30-1:20 p.m.

Progressive Islam and the Three Equalities
· The thoughts of Mahmoud Mohamed Taha, a voice from the margins reinterpreting Islam

Featuring Dr. Ernest Johnson, Multicultural Studies, Shoreline Community College

Both presentations are free and will be in Room 9208 PUB (Quiet Dining Room). The campus map is here. There is a small charge for parking on campus.
