Temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s on Friday evening, so it’s going to be chilly night for the Meadowdale and Eastside Catholic football teams as they square off in a 3A State playoff game at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.
If you’d rather not bundle up with four or five layers of clothing, you have the luxury of watching the game in the comfort of your own home on the computer or TV. The game will be broadcast live on the Sound Live Sports Network.
Eastside Catholic defeated Meadowdale 21-16 in a state semifinal game last year at Memorial Stadium. This year the Crusaders (9-1) are ranked No. 2 in the latest Seattle Times Poll. Meadowdale, ranked No., 8, doesn’t mind playing the underdog role. Quarterback Caleb Tingstad said he expects Eastside Catholic to be projected to beat the Mavericks. “That’s what we like,” Tingstad said after last week’s win over Auburn. Meadowdale prefers playing when “no one expects us to win,” he added.
