Yes, I want want to support My Edmonds News! The Edmonds Floretum Garden Club will host a Saturday workshop, “Think Like A Bird,” on Jan. 10 with Dr. Alan Mearns.
Mearns works as a marine ecologist and senior staff scientist with NOAA. He is also a charter member of the Edmonds Backyard Wildlife Project and member of Pilchuck Audobon Society.
Mearns and his wife are long-time Edmonds residents committed to making their home “wildlife friendly.” In 2003, he began carefully monitoring birds throughout the seasons that spend time in his own and neighboring gardens, recording over 70 species.
Attendees will enjoy a slide presentation and discussion of what Mearns has been observing and learning. Expect information on how garden practice is key to a nurturing habitat.
The workshop will be held at the Coldwell Banker Bain meeting. room, 108-5th Ave. S., Edmonds from 10 a.m. to noon. Donations are appreciated but not required.
