This us fantastic! We should name a street after them and put dance steps on it like the ones on Capitol Hill. It would also be fun to see them in our Independence Day parade!
Great idea! I found a photo of them in the parade from 2011, when they were much younger! See this link: https://myedmondsnews.com/2011/07/patriotism-on-parade-for-edmonds-kind-of-fourth/
The Linders & Taylors would like to thank the Edmonds community for all the support for Erik & Rickie over the years.
Congradulations on your win and elegant performance in Paris!
Congratulations and I love the idea of naming a street in Edmonds after you two. You did Edmonds and Lake Stevens
proud! Keep it up and someday maybe I will see you on
“Dancing With The Stars”!!!
Thank you, They were on In 2010. Go to erikandrickie.com you can see all their videos.
Thank you for showing their parade photo. How do we go about honoring this amazing accomplishment by getting a street named after them such as Roslyn Sumners Blvd.?
Kim, I think this is how it would work:
The city’s Planning Division in the Development Services department would make an honorary street name change happen, with help/direction from the Edmonds City Council.
Citizens would want to bring up such an action by contacting City Council President Buckschnis (with a cc: to Mayor Earling, maybe) who would direct the request(s) to the appropriate council member for sponsorship; or to the appropriate department for the city’s reply/action.
We are so honored and thankful for everyones encouraging words. Erik and Rickie are so excited. It has been quite the journey for them with incredible hours of practice and training. They competed against 41 incredible couples from around the world. Thank you again for cheering them on and for believing in Erik and Rickie. – Lars and Holly Linder (Erik’s parents)
I was fortunate to see and meet them a few years back. This is wonderful and well deserved.
Awesome news! Also thanks should go to the parents too for all the work they do in chaperoning and taking care of the kids who are now teens. Rikki and Eric have done a number of volunteer dances for the Edmonds Senior Center and I am sure all those seniors will be estatic.
