Your old refrigerator can provide meals for hungry families

Puget Sound Energy has teamed up with Food Lifeline to feed hungry families through its refrigerator recycling program.

From now until Dec. 15, PSE customers can call PSE to schedule a free pick up of their old fridge or freezer. After they recycle their appliance, the customer will receive a $25 reward, which they can choose to donate to local food assistance programs through Food Lifeline. And PSE will match that donation for a total of $50 per recycled appliance.

Just one contribution can provide 200 meals and makes a huge difference to Puget Sound families in need, PSE said.

  1. A reader pointed out to us that this promotion does not apply to those in ZIP codes 98020 and 98026. When we asked Puget Sound Energy about it they apologized for mistakenly promoting this offer to My Edmonds News.
