Connor Alexander Gerhold
Mother’s Name: Halima Gerhold
Father’s Name: Nils Gerhold
GPA: 3.4
Clubs & Activities: Writing, theater and, of course, video games. With writing I am somewhat ambitious with the settings I like to write. This also includes my characters and the underlying themes, with the struggle of the characters’ bad and good sides. That’s also why I deeply enjoy playing games. They have become a beautiful medium for storytelling, since they can be interactive. As for theater, I’m actually quite new to the art, mostly in the acting department. But I have enjoyed singing and dancing. Even though I’m still new to this, I have enjoyed the hours spent doing so with my classmates.
Community Service: As for helping the community, I have had the pleasure of tutoring three young people with their reading skills. Sadly, they have been taught to read words by just laying their eyes upon the pages and not by breaking apart each phonetic sound. This has hindered their ability to read with elegance, proper flow, and emotion. But progress is being made with these young fellows and they will have proper skills at their disposal for communicating, writing, and general speech.
Future Educational Goals: As for my academic goals, I plan to attend the technical program in welding at Everett Community College. This will ensure I have a source of income for when I attend Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla. The degree I wish to attain is ‘Creative Writing for Entertainment.’
Future Career Goals: In regards to my career goals, that is where the aforementioned degree comes into place. Because, I wish to be a writer for a AAA-Title video game. Games like “Destiny,” or “No Man’s Sky” require writers to make their lore and setting.
Anything else we should know? I am deeply grateful that I have this award, and am looking forward to graduating this upcoming summer!

Father’s Name: Farzad Keshvadian

Current Employment: Currently I am a self-employed artist working on opening an online store. Throughout this year I have attended several craft fairs with my mother to sell the jewelry and accessories we make. I currently use Instagram to show the things I make, since it will be a few months before I can open my online store.
Future Educational Goals: I have many interests I would love to improve. I have thought a lot about taking courses in clothing and costume fabrication and design. I also would like to take classes for graphic design. And I definitely plan to learn more about ethical taxidermy and skeleton articulation. I frequently use bones in my jewelry already, but I would like to learn more techniques.
Future Career Goals: I would love to work for a gaming company like Riot or Blizzard in character design. A lot of my inspiration comes from video games, so I would be really happy to be able to create armor and character ideas, if not fabricate them, too. But if my little store of handmade things becomes popular enough I may just stick with that for a while, though I’d be happy to do both!
