Downtown Edmonds residents may have noticed a large contingent of fire trucks in the area of Third and Walnut around 5:30 p.m. Sunday night — but not to worry. It was just smoke generated by a cooking fire on a stove, and everyone was safe.
According to Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes, the call came in at 5:36 p.m. and resulted in large fire response due to the location — in the 400 block of Walnut Street — where many condominium units are located.
The burning food did generate a lot of smoke, but there was no damage to the condominium where the incident occurred or nearby residences, Hynes said.
