The Foundation for Edmonds School District on Wednesday honored all those who participated in a recent fundraising event that generated $57,614 for the Nourishing Network, a weekend meal program for the District’s homeless and low-income families.

According to Foundation Executive Director Deb Anderson, Andy Cline of Cline Jewelers raised $1,750 over Thanksgiving weekend. Cline’s donation was combined with money raised through a North Sound Church Mosaic Choir fundraiser for a total of $41,513, and Campbell Nelson VW/Nissan matched that amount with $4,153.

In addition, Whole Foods in Lynnwood, through their Feed4More program, raised $11,948, which will be used to purchase food.

“A huge thank you to the community for coming together, rallying behind the Nourishing Network, and helping to support our homeless children,” Anderson said.

Foundation for Edmonds School District Executive Director Deb Anderson recognized community volunteer Abraham Williams, who is legally blind but walks a mile every Wednesday from his Edmonds home to Edmonds Heights K-12 School, where he bags food for low-income and homeless families served by the Nourishing Network.
