Police looking for man accused of exposing himself to Edmonds Community College students

Edmonds Community College Campus Security and the Lynnwood Police Department have received multiple reports of a man exposing himself to students of Edmonds Community College off campus.

In two of these alleged incidents, students were waiting for public transportation at marked bus stops on Highway 99 when approached. The most recent incident occurred near campus on 68th Avenue West when the subject asked the victim to enter his vehicle. In all of the reported incidents, the victims were Asian females.

It is unclear at this time if all incidents involved the same perpetrator or if each incident had a different perpetrator.

In a majority of the incidents, the subject(s) are described as a Caucasian male, approximately late 40s to early 50s, 5-foot-9 to 6-0 in height, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a baseball cap. Subject(s) were reported to have short, close-cropped hair, black in color, with some grey. The subject(s) were also reported to be wearing round, silver framed glasses. In one report, the subject was observed driving a dark blue, four-door sedan.

Edmonds Community College urges anyone who is a victim of any crime to call 911 and also make a report to Campus Security. Victims of any form of sexual assault are encouraged to seek confidential support at the Counseling and Resource Center in Mountlake Terrace Hall 145 (www.edcc.edu/counseling or 425-640-1358).

The college encourages students to:

  • When possible, travel in groups and walk in well-lit areas.
  • Carry minimal amounts of valuables, preferably not in plain sight.
  • Call 911 immediately if you are the victim of a crime or witness a crime.
  • After you are at a safe place, try to document suspect’s physical characteristics, including what the suspect is wearing, weight, height, clothing, etc. Include any other identifying information such as scars, marks or tattoos, as well as any possible vehicles.
