Scene in Edmonds: The rescue that wasn’t

If you were keeping an eye on the Edmonds waterfront Thursday, you may have noticed what appeared to be a rescue operation going on , including Fire District 1 vehicles, a rescue boat and a Coast Guard helicopter. According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh, the effort was related to a kite surfer whose kite deflated and was drifting. However, the man declined to be rescued and did manage to make it back to shore near Point Wells.
