The Edmonds community is continuing its generous support of two brothers who lost their father on Christmas Eve to a heart attack, six years after their mother died of cancer.
More than $50,000 has been raised so far through a GoFundMe account established for Brad and Jordan Rice, whose father Corey Rice died Dec. 24.
This Tuesday night, Jan. 6, at the Edmonds-Woodway High School boys basketball game vs. Arlington, the basketball team is requesting that as many people as possible “fill the stands” in honor of Corey Rice. Jordan Rice, 16, currently plays on the EW varsity basketball team while his 19-year-old brother Brad, a 2013 E-W grad who now attends Shoreline Community College, is a former varsity player. In addition, the team is going to do a collection at halftime to help support the brothers.
In addition, a meal train — a service where volunteers may sign up to bring a meal — has been started for Jordan and Brad. You can learn more and sign up here.
