DINNER AND A SHOW! When you think of entertainment, you normally also think about where will you eat before or after the show, right? And what better way to launch this idea with the opening of a show called Death by Chocolate.
Well, the Edmonds Driftwood Players and Five Restaurant were thinking the same thing. Thus was born the Dinner & A Show idea. Show opens Feb. 20. This package makes it so easy to become the “Best Valentine” ever. You get to extend the glow of Valentine’s Day for another week.
The show itself tells you “what’s for dessert.” This could be fun! I am certainly excited about the marriage of food and art!
I hope to provide details of this special meal, dessert and show in my next column!

FYI. Cocoa, cocau beans are not legumes. Here is an excerpt and site from the UW.
Cacao (or cocoa) beans are technically not legumes but rather seeds of the fruit of the
Theobroma cacao
tree. Each pod
–
shaped
fruit produces approximately 35
–
50 seeds surrounded by a sweet pulp. Once they are harvested, cacao beans are typically
fermented; naturally occurring microbes multiply using sugar from the sweet pulp as an energy source.

Janice, I do know that Cocoa isn’t truly a veggie, it is a joke that continues to circulate, especially at this time of year when we have such a “Chocolate centric” holiday upon us. I do appreciate your diligence and I thank you supplying the facts for those who may not get my little bit of humor.
PS: I thoroughly enjoyed reading your column, Kathy. Having all the local offerings at our fingertips is so convenient. I’m consuming just a bit of chocolate every day conserving Feb 14th for the big day.
