Fire District 1 fire calls, Feb. 5-18

Fire District 1Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 808 calls Feb. 5-18: 652 emergency medical aid calls, 69 motor vehicle collisions, 30 fires, 19 service calls, 9 natural gas leaks and 29 automatic fire alarms.

Feb. 5
COLLISION: At 8:07 a.m., a two-car collision was reported on southbound I-5 south of 128th Street SW. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 8:20 a.m., a two-car, rear-end collision was reported on southbound I-405 south of I-5. Firefighters transported two patients to Evergreen Hospital.

Feb. 6
COLLISION: At 11:50 a.m., a minivan went off the road in the 11200 block of 4th Avenue W south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

COLLISION: At 6:14 p.m., there was a T-bone collision at 208th Street SW and 76th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

CAR FIRE: At 6:50 p.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 2600 block of 205th Place SW east of Lynnwood.

Feb. 7

COLLISION: At 1:17 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 220th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Feb.  9
COLLISION: At 6:08 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 220th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 6:34 p.m., a four-car collision occurred at 128th Street SW and I‑5. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

COLLISION: At 7:36 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision on northbound I-5 south of 128th Street SW. One patient was transported by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Feb. 11
COLLISION: At 4:06 p.m., a fire engine and a car collided at 228th Street and 44th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. The fire engine was responding to a call with lights and sirens when the collision occurred. The driver of the car was transported by paramedics to Harborview Medical Center. Her injuries were not life-threatening. Two firefighters were transported to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital. Their injuries appeared to be minor.

FIRE: At 3:28 p.m., a fire was reported in an abandoned house in the 15500 block of 52nd Avenue W north of Lynnwood. Firefighters arrived to see light smoke coming from the roofline. Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in the living room. It appeared squatters had been living in the house.

FIRE: At 9:06 p.m., neighbors reported hearing a large explosion and seeing smoke and flames in a wooded area in the 16500 block of 48th Avenue W north of Edmonds. Firefighters extinguished the fire and discovered the explosion came from a propane tank at a homeless camp in the area.

Feb. 12
COLLISION: At 5:10 a.m., a head-on collision was reported in the 2600 block of 100th Street SW south of Everett. Two persons were injured and transported to Providence.

Feb. 14
COLLISION: At 5:21 a.m., a six-car collision occurred at the corner of 164th Street SE and 3rd Avenue SE east of Lynnwood. In addition, a pedestrian was injured when she struck her head on a utility pole in an effort to avoid the cars involved. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 4:23 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 164th Street SW and Ash north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 10:12 p.m., a school bus carrying a high school basketball team lost control while exiting from southbound I-5 onto 244th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace and flipped onto its left side. Firefighters transported eight players, one coach and the bus driver to area hospitals. All had minor injuries.

Feb. 15
COLLISION: At 1:43 p.m., three cars were involved in a rear-end collision at 220th Street SW and Highway 99 in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 4:51 p.m., a motorcycle and a van collided at Highway 99 and SR-525 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Feb. 16
COLLISION: At 11:15 a.m., a car crashed into a building in the 600 block of 7th Avenue N in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the driver and the passenger to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital. The building sustained minor damage and no one inside was hurt.

COLLISION: At 10:24 p.m., a car struck a utility pole at 204th Street SW and 21st Place W in Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Feb. 17
CAR FIRE: At 10:36 a.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 18700 block of 60th Avenue W north of Lynnwood. No one was injured.
