Prep girls basketball: Jackson scores 23 as Warriors get a shot at state berth

The Warriors built on a dominating first quarter to secure a 77-53 win over Ferndale in a 3A District 1 loser-out game Thursday in Ferndale, with Moni Jackson scoring a game-high 23 points. Jackson had four 3-pointers in the contest, which propels E-W into a winner-to-state/loser-out game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Jackson High School.

Also contributing for the Warriors were Missy Peterson and Natalie Kasper, with 17 points apiece, and Mady Burdett with 15.

  1. when you get all four of these starters playing good together they are unstoppable. The key to Saturday’s game will be to not turn the ball over and do not force the shots.
