Relatives, friends and teachers gathered at Edmonds-Woodway High School Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the accomplishments of seven high school athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent to play college sports next year.
“We are so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished,” said EWHS Athletic Director Angie McGuire, who went on to thank all those in the crowd who have supported the athletes over the years.
Those signing included two members of Edmonds-Woodway’s state 3A champion girls soccer team — Rylee Peterson, who will play at the University of Nevada, and Kiera Towell, who has signed with the University of Pennsylvania.
Other E-W athletes who were honored Wednesday included Moni Jackson, who will be playing basketball for the University of Puget Sound; Griffin Small, who has signed to play soccer at Saint Martin’s University; Malia Mackey, a gymnast who will compete for Cornell University; and two members of the Warrior football team — Nick Morales, who committed to Amherst College, and Nick Venema, who signed with Western Oregon.
In addition, Meadowdale High School announced that the following athletes are signing college Letters of Intent for next year:
– Caleb Tingstad and Malik Braxton, football, Western Oregon
– Ashley Routh, soccer, Seattle University
