Edmonds School District earns ‘Best Community for Music Education’ award for seventh straight year

msuicThe Edmonds School District has again been recognized by the NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education with a Best Communities for Music Education designation.

The district joins 388 districts across the country – and only two others in Washington State – to receive the prestigious distinction in 2015.

In its 16th year, Best Communities for Music Education affirms school districts that have demonstrated exceptional efforts toward maintaining music education as part of the schools’ core curriculum. This is the district’s seventh year in a row receiving this award and its ninth year overall.

  1. Congratulations to the Edmonds School District for their commitment in the area of music education. An education in music goes far beyond learning to play and instrument or sing.

  2. Congratulations! It is heartening to know music is being taught here. So many of the arts programs are being lost across the country. Many people don’t realize how important these programs are–when they are gone it will be a tragedy.
