Add together a dedicated owner and staff, a new store location, dozens of pies, cookies and cinnamon rolls, and multiply by a horde of hungry customers; the result of that equation was plain to see Saturday at a big grand opening event in Mountlake Terrace.
The Snohomish Pie Company opened their second location on Pi Day (3/14) with fanfare, hoopla and plenty of fresh baked desserts. Mountlake Terrace Mayor helped owner Jenny Brien and her husband Ryan cut the ribbon on the new bakery as a line of customers estimated at more than 130 watched on.
Brien has owned the Snohomish institution for more than 18 years and began scouting for a second location to open last year. Saturday’s opening in the West Plaza shopping center ended the search and ensuing four months of preparations on the retail space.
The Mountlake Terrace location in the 5600 block of 232nd Street SW will be open daily beginning at 10 a.m. and includes seating for about 50. In addition to pie the bakery will serve cookies, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches and soups.
