Premera hacked by cyber attackers; company offering free credit monitoring, ID services

premera-logoPremera announced on Tuesday that the company has been the target of a sophisticated cyber attack.

Attackers gained unauthorized access to its IT systems and may have accessed the personal information of its members, employees and other people the Mountlake Terrace-based company does business with.

Premera is making available two years of free credit monitoring and identity protection services to anyone affected by this incident — as well as providing more information on this site.

Premera’s investigation determined that attackers may have gained unauthorized access to personal information, but the company has not determined that any information was removed from its system. Premera is mailing letters to everyone whose information was affected by this attack. You don’t need your letter to sign up for the free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services..
