The Pt. Edwards pair of bald eagles regularly perch on that piling. Perhaps thinking it was a fish, one of them scooped the shoe out of the water and flew it over to the piling.
I first noticed the shoe on the piling on Sunday morning the 22nd after working out. Since I look out in that direction every morning, I believe it was ‘placed’ there early that Sunday. I took pix and published them on FB (sorry Teresa). I had the same theory as Bill Anderson as I couldn’t figure out how it got there. Well, it’s gone this morning. So, I’ll have to find something else to talk about 🙂
I happened to see the shoe, also, along with bald eagles perched on the other pilings. I’ll submit that photo!
