Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 825 calls March 5-18: 671 emergency medical aid calls, 61 motor vehicle collisions, 27 fires, 26 service calls, 5 natural gas leaks and 35 automatic fire alarms.
March 5
COLLISION: At 6:33 p.m., a three-car collision was reported on northbound I-5 south of 44th Avenue W. Firefighters transported four patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
ELECTRICAL FIRE: At 8:04 p.m., firefighters extinguished a small electrical fire in an upstairs bedroom of a home in the 10 block of 167th Place SW east of Lynnwood. No one was injured.
March 7
CAR FIRE: At 1:54 p.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 14700 block of 58th Drive SE east of Mill Creek. No one was injured.
DRYER FIRE: At 4:17 p.m., firefighters extinguished a clothes dryer fire at a home in the 3600 block of 199th Place SW east of Lynnwood. No one was injured.
PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY A CAR: At 5:13 P.M., a car struck a pedestrian at 5th Avenue S and Walnut Street in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 8
CAR-BICYCLE COLLISION: At 3:01 p.m., a bicyclist was struck by a car at Cypress Way and Larch Way east of Lynnwood. The bicyclist was seriously injured and was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.
March 11
KITCHEN FIRE: At 11:54 p.m., firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at a business in the 21900 block of Highway 99 in Mountlake Terrace. The blaze was put out with a fire extinguisher and damage was minimal.
March 12
PEDESTRIAN INJURED: At 8:26 a.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian at Cathcart Way and Snohomish Cascade Drive east of Mill Creek. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
March 13
COLLISION: At 1:24 a.m., a motorcycle crashed into a ditch at Airport Road and E Gibson Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported the injured cyclist to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
March 15
COLLISION: At 1:54 a.m., a car flipped over on its roof in the 14500 block of Admiralty Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 2:04 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 244th Street SW and 59th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 3:26 p.m., a two-car collision occurred at 134th Place SE and N. Snohomish Cascade Drive east of Mill Creek. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
March 16
ELECTRICAL PANEL FIRE: At 6:43 a.m., firefighters responded to a house filled with a light haze of smoke in the 2300 block of Larch Way east of Lynnwood. No flames were seen. It appeared the smoke was generated by a problem with the electrical panel.
COLLISION: At 6:13 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at Bartlett Road and Filbert Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Evergreen Hospital.
GREASE FIRE: At 7:39 p.m., firefighters responded to a kitchen grease fire at a home in the 2500 block of 164th Street SW east of Lynnwood. Flames engulfed the stove and extended to the ceiling. The fire alarm went off and a sprinkler system activated and extinguished the fire. Damage is estimated at $10,000.
March 17
COLLISION: At 4:59 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at 160th Street SW and 52ndAvenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 6:05 p.m., a car crashed a ditch on the ramp from southbound I-5 to southbound I-405 in Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Evergreen Hospital.
COLLISION: At 6:15 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 220th Street SW and 70th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters used rescue tools to free one patient from the wreckage. The patient was transported to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
March 18
COLLISION: At 9:55 a.m., a car crashed into a utility pole at 212th Place SW and 212th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 7:33 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 10100 block of Edmonds Way in Edmonds. Both cars were heavily damaged. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
