Edmonds scenic: Another red-sky sunset

From Harry Shin, Sunday's fiery red sunset from the Edmonds waterfront. The National Weather Service says the reddish hue is most likely caused by smoke from fires in Siberia, mixed with some dust from Asia.

  1. Smoke from Siberian fires…dust from Asia…just underscores for me how international we all are, how we all affect one another globally. It never occurred to me, when I saw little Edmond’s awesome sunset, how the red color may be from Siberia. Siberia! Mind blowing! Beautiful pic!

  2. Beautiful! But sad to think of the cause. It just shows how what happens in one part of the world can affect another part.

  3. Think this may have been taken on Saturday. Last night we were near the ferry terminal until sunset and only saw a whiter haze. Some space shots showed the Siberian smoke trailing south. On any event it is a beautiful shot. We get similar after Gobi desert storms at times.

  4. A good case to prove climate change and how it affects us all . . . leaving trails of beauty and destruction.
