Updated with additional details.
Edmonds police were called to the Sounder commuter train station around 5 p.m. Wednesday to respond to a passenger who pulled the emergency brake as the train was headed northbound from Seattle toward Edmonds.
According to the King County Sheriff’s office, the 25-year-old man was avoiding a fare enforcement officer and pulled the emergency brake, stopping the train south of Edmonds. The suspect was held down by the train conductor, passengers and the fare enforcement officer until the train got to Edmonds, where he was greeted by King County Sheriff’s deputies and police officers, and arrested.
There were no injuries to the suspect or passengers. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for disrupting service on the Sounder train, the sheriff’s office said.
The train’s arrival to its final destination in Everett was delayed approximately 15 minutes, Sound Transit said.
