Fundraising efforts to rename Edmonds Fire Station No. 16 on 196th Street Southwest after late community organizer Betty Mueller have collected $2,000, but $1,000 more is needed to buy the lettering for the sign.
“As many of you know, it was Betty who got the ball rolling on replacing our old and dilapidated civic buildings in 1994, which included the police station, two fire stations and the courthouse,” organizer Dave Page said. “Please help us raise the last $1,000 by sending a check in care of the Betty Mueller dedication fund to Union Bank, 123 3rd Ave S.
Edmonds, 98020.
You can also call Page at 425-319-1234 and he will pick up your donation. Donors “will be given a front row seat at the dedication,” he added.
“Thank you to all who have donated so far,” Page said.
Thanks Teresa, your the best.
Betty was also a founding member of the now defunct Edmonds Fire Safety Foundation which raised funds for the old Edmonds Fire Department. She ‘conscripted’ me and I enjoyed serving on its Board for over 7 years. Betty is one of the finest human beings I’ve ever known.
