Reminder: memoirist Elissa Washuta to speak Monday

EPIC literary group welcomes memoir author Elissa Washuta to the Edmonds Library on Monday at 11 a.m. as part of the weekly speakers series. Seating is limited to the first twenty people and takes place after 10 a.m. Monday morning writing group with Janette Turner.

Elissa Washuta’s talk, ‘Not What I Was Expecting: Lessons From My Debut Memoir,’ will offer tips on finishing and publishing your memoir. Elissa Washuta, a member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, is the author of the acclaimed memoir, ‘My Body Is a Book of Rules.’ Cosmopolitan magazine gave Washuta’s book this review: “You should have ‘My Body Is a Book of Rules’ on your radar now. . . . Washuta’s story is . . . an ultra-modern take on contemporary femininity, mental illness, and identity.” —Cosmopolitan.
