More than 50 kindergarten through fifth-graders joined the 1.2 mile kids fun run during Saturday’s 2015 Health and Fitness Expo at Edmonds District Stadium, sponsored by Verdant Health Commission, City of Edmonds Parks and Recreation, the Edmonds School District, and Citrine Health. The expo featured scores of health and wellness booths staffed by local businesses, special events including two fun runs, a cheerleading clinic and an obstacle course, and free health screenings.Tristan Wong and Alizabeth Webb squared off on the obstacle course, where participants race against each other and the clock while navigating complex mazes and hurdles.Alex Hernandez of Lynnwood gets in a few kicks and punches with students from Lee’s Martial Arts Tae Kwon Do.Budding hoop-shooters got the chance to develop their eye-hand coordination on a practice machine.The bicycle rodeo staffed by the Edmonds Bicycle Advocacy Group (EBAG) gave participants the chance to test their ability to maneuver through a complex course.
