Just about everyone over the age of 4 to those in their 90s have enjoyed the magical genius of Walt Disney at some time in their lives. And the songs from those favorite movies – “Whistle While You Work,” Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah,” “Under the Sea,” “When You Wish Upon a Star,’ “Chim-Chim Cheree,” “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Let It Go,” to name just a few – are the most hummable, spirit-lifting music ever composed for film.
On Saturday, June 6, two performances – at 3 and 7 p.m. – will be presented by the 100-voice Sno-King Community Chorale, under the direction of Frank DeMiero, at Edmonds Center for the Arts. Tickets are $20 (adult); $17 (senior/student); $5 (children 12 and under); groups of 10 or more seniors, $10 each. Tickets may be purchased by calling the ECA box office, 425-275-9595, or online at www.ec4arts.org.
Children who come to the show in costume will be invited to join a special Mickey Mouse Parade.
“This will be one of the most exciting shows we have ever put on,” says Debra DeMiero, chorale accompanist. “We know the audience will join us in many of the tunes and that just makes it more fun for all of us.”
The concert is funded in part by the City of Edmonds Arts Commission Tourism Promotion Fund through City of Edmonds lodging tax funds.
