The two women arrested Tuesday morning.

Two women were in Snohomish County Jail Tuesday after allegedly shoplifting items from the Westgate QFC and driving away in a stolen vehicle.

According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Josh McClure, police were dispatched to the QFC store on the corner of Edmonds Way and 100th Avenue West at 4:28 a.m. after a woman was reported to be hiding items in her bag. Store officials reported the license plate number to police, and an officer who was nearby was able to get behind the car as it left the QFC parking lot.

Police were able to pull over the car, which had been reported stolen, in the area of 231st Street Southwest and 102nd, McClure said. They arrested the driver and a passenger, who were transported to Snohomish County Jail.
