Several volunteers worked alongside EarthCorps members last week to clean and rehabilitate the Edmonds Marsh as part of United Way of Snohomish County’s Days of Caring event on Sept. 11 and 12.

During the service event, more than 500 volunteers completed 28 total projects with 19 nonprofit agencies, spanning 11 Snohomish County cities. They painted barns and playrooms, cleaned yards and built fences. They ran a carnival for children and a casino day for adults with disabilities.

“We look forward to this event each year,” said Dennis G. Smith, president and CEO of United Way of Snohomish County, the organization responsible for organizing this event. “We believe that we can make a big impact by working together, and this event is proof of that.”

United Way is a community impact organization serving Snohomish County for 75 years. To find out more, visit uwsc.org.
