Edmonds police were called to the Lake Ballinger neighborhood Wednesday after a homeowner reported that two suspects were attempting to break into his home through the doggie door.
According police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, the incident was reported at 9:50 a.m. in the 23800 block of 76th Avenue West. The two male suspects fled the scene after they heard the homeowner, and were last seen running east from 76th Avenue West toward Lake Ballinger. With assistance from a Lynnwood police K-9 unit, police searched the area but were unable to find the suspects, Hawley said.
The suspects were described as white males, both at least 6-feet-2-inches tall. One of them was described as lanky; the other as heavy set and wearing a blue button-up shirt. Police ask citizens are asked to call 911 if they see anyone or anything suspicious.
