Road grinding and paving activities along 220th Street Southwest will begin Monday, Sept. 21 and continue throughout the week, the City of Edmonds said.
The project involves a full-width roadway grind and two-inch overlay with new pavement between 84th Avenue and 76th Avenue. Typical work hours for this section of paving will be Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project will also add bike lanes on 220th Street to connect to the existing bike lane network east of 84th Avenue. Adding bike lanes will modify the existing lane configuration and reduce on-street parking within the project limits. Pedestrian curb ramps will be upgraded to comply with the current American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
A separate overlay program will continue the pavement rehabilitation work on 220th Street from 76th Avenue eastward to the Interurban Trail. The work east of 76th Avenue will be night work and will also begin on Monday.
Intermittent traffic delays can be expected, but residential, pedestrian and business access will be open throughout the project.
