Prep boys tennis: Warriors down Hawks 5-2

ewhs logoAfter a five-game win streak was ended last Thursday by Shorewood, the Edmonds-Woodway boys tennis team got back to their winning ways on Monday with a 5-2 victory over the Mountlake Terrace Hawks.

The Warriors swept all three doubles matches and picked up wins in the #3 and #4 singles’ matches to grab the team victory in a Wesco League match played at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Hawks Jeremy Ansdell and Adam Lorraine earned the only match victories for Terrace in the #1 and #2 singles’ matches respectively.

EW (5-1 in Wesco League play, 7-2 overall) stays on the road for their next match-up, a showdown with Wesco League South 3A leaders Glacier Peak on Thursday, Oct. 1. The Grizzlies (8-1 overall) will be looking to avenge their only loss so far this season, a 4-3 defeat to the Warriors on Sept. 16. Terrace (2-4 in Wesco League, 4-4 overall) will travel to Meadowdale on Wednesday, Sept. 30, for a tilt against the Mavericks.
