If you love birds, plan on being in Edmonds this weekend for the Puget Sound Bird Fest. The three-day event includes speakers, guided walks, land and water-based field trips, exhibits, and educational activities for children and adults.
Saturday field trips include a morning Birding Cruise on Puget Sound with the Edmonds Yacht Club. There will be workshops and presentations all day Saturday at the Frances Anderson Center on topics including beginning and advanced photography, backyard birds, owls, optics, getting started in birding, and citizen science projects involving birds. Sarvey Wildlife Center Raptor Education Program will also be at the Anderson Center on Saturday. On Sunday there will be more field trips, guided walks, and tours of the Edmonds Wildlife Habitat and Native Plant Demonstration Garden.
Visit the festival website for more details as they become available. If you are interested in volunteering at Puget Sound Bird Fest, call Cindi Cruz at 425-775-7724, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
