Fifty-percent of net proceeds are directly granted to school teams that have at least 20 registered participants. The larger the team, the larger their portion of the shared proceeds. The schools choose how to use the money to extend student learning on their campuses. In years past, schools have used these funds in a variety of ways to support student learning through the purchase of sheet music for a high school music department to pre-k early learning to reading enrichment programs.

At Lynndale Elementary School, funds have made a tremendous difference by supporting after-school enrichment opportunities. “As the winning school, we were provided with money to go towards our after school program, that was utilized by over 250 of our students, and appreciated by our parents,” says Lynndale Principal Chris Fulford.

The remaining portion of event proceeds will support Foundation programs including:

  • Creative Classroom Grants for teachers and School-wide Grants for schools
  • Stipends to cover the cost of “college in high school” coursework
  • Surplus computers for low-income families
  • Afterschool Study programs for struggling 7th and 8th grade students
  • Team prizes. The three schools with the most participants get to choose from these amazing team prizes:

Sunday matinee and popcorn at the Edmonds Theater
Skate and pizza party at Lynnwood Bowl and Skate
Catered burger party from Red Onion Burgers

Find your team and register to join them, or make a pledge to support their fundraising goals. If you have questions about registering or fundraising as a team, visit the event page, or contact Lorna, 425-431-7084.
