Sister City Commission seeks student representative

The Edmonds Sister City Commission is taking applications for a student representative. The applicant must be a resident of Edmonds and have a strong interest in Japan. Duties will include attending meetings on the fourth Monday evening of the month and assisting with events associated with the commission. In addition, special projects, such as the Commission’s booth at the Edmonds’ Farmers Market and student delegation recruiting, will fall to the representative.

The current position is for the remainder of the 2015–2016 academic year and will begin upon the selection of a candidate and run through Aug. 31, 2016 with the possibility of being extended for the 2016–2017 academic year. Terms are for one academic year starting on Sept. 1 through Aug. 31.

It is the mission of the Sister City Commission to promote international communication and understanding through exchanges of people, ideas, and culture. The student representative will help with this promotion among young people in Edmonds and contribute to international cultural understanding in the community.
