Starting this month, Snohomish County PUD customers will begin receiving monthly bills.
With monthly bills, each individual payment will be about half of a two-month period for most customers. There will be no change in the due date, which will remain approximately 15 days after the billing date.
Monthly billing is standard for most businesses and utilities, and many of the PUD’s technology upgrades and improvements to business processes will be more effectively implemented with monthly billing. The change is part of a longer-term plan to offer more options for customers, such as the ability to access more timely information about energy usage.
With this move, billing is changing but meters will continue to be read every other month. This means every second month, bills will be estimated based on previous usage. Any incidental shortage or credit will be reflected on your next month’s reading and bill.
Customers on the Budget Payment Plan will not be affected by this change. Any business customer currently on a bi-monthly billing plan will now be billed monthly. For more information about monthly billing, visit www.snopud.com/changes.
