Sponsor spotlight: Stadium Flowers to provide ‘wow’ factor at Oct. 3 ECA Gala

stadiumWhen attendees sit down for dinner at this year’s Edmonds Center for the Arts Red Carpet Gala Oct. 3, they will be greeted by floral arrangements generously donated by Stadium Flowers.

Stadium Flowers, which is providing arrangements for all 35 tables, has three retail shops: 208th & Hwy 99 in Lynnwood; 5703 Evergreen Way in Everett; 37th and Broadway in Everett.

In addition, Cascade Wholesale was built in 1991 as a wholesale cut flower business selling to the three Stadium stores and other florists. The wholesale division houses a Call Center, Business Office, Design Center, Bouquet Making Division, and Sales for the entire operation. All the flowers are trucked and flown in and processed in the wholesale division with the state of the art water system and bucket cleaning system.

Stadium Flowers began in 1947 by Elaine and Dorrie Ransick and was purchased by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Spark Van Winkle. The family is still very involved including the third generation. Cheryl and Spark have a son Adam, who is part of the family business.

Stadium Flowers feels a strong commitment to the community and the customers they serve in Snohomish County.Spark Van Winkle is involved with his Rotary Club and Cheryl Van Winkle is active with hospital guilds, Festival of Trees and many other auctions. The business is a generous contributor to most of Snohomish County’s non-profits including United Way, YMCA, and Boys and Girls Clubs. Spark and Cheryl donated to the Greater Everett Community Foundation for an endowment to Everett Rowing to help young boys and girls. The company donates about $85,000 in cash and in-kind donations to charities, churches and organizations annually.
