Another perfect Saturday is forecast for this week, with a week of cooler weather ahead. This is the perfect time to stop by the market and check out one of our newest members, Bright Ide Acres, who brings frozen whole chickens from their farm to the market each week. The folks at Bright Ides will happily tell you about their farm, how they ethically raise their animals, and share their love of farming with the shoppers of the market.
Not in the mood for a Chicken-Veggie Soup, check out the lamb and beef cuts from Martiny Livestock. Just recently, my son has discovered their stir-fry beef cut strips, which combined with broccoli, peppers and more from the market, makes a hearty, wholesome dinner!
Now that Labor Day is past, it is officially time to start your holiday shopping at the market. With only four weeks left, don’t let the market end before you decide to pick up that handmade necklace, unique wood bowl, humorous T-shirt, or something else that has been tempting you these last few weeks.
Finally, stock up on your favorite sides too: maybe some canned tuna from St. Jude’s, barbecue sauce, mustard, jam or sauce.
See you at the market!

Just wondering what are the hours for the market tomorrow and if Angry Fish preserves will have a booth? (We love their raspberry habanero jam with cream cheese on crackers!)
Market hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Not sure which vendors will be there.
If they aren’t at the Edmonds market tomorrow, they might be at the Lake Forest Park market on Sunday.
