While the intermittent rain may have kept some at home, it did nothing to quell the enthusiasm of the die-hard group of runners who turned out for the first Conquer the Hill 5K run.
The course took the runners from downtown to the top of Main Street for a grueling 321-foot elevation gain in the first mile. Participants ranged in age from 8 to 79.
Organized by Edmonds Parks and Recreation, the event was sponsored by Axis Physical Therapy and Edmonds Family Medicine. Refreshments were provided by Walgreens, Trader Joe’s, Fred Meyer and QFC.
