All Saints Day will be celebrated at Trinity Lutheran Church with a special program featuring local organist Lola Wolf.

Wolf will be joined by members of the Byrd Ensemble led by Markdavin Obenza.

Drawn to mysticism, Wolf has performed Olivier Messiaen’s “Les Corps Glorieux” and “Messe de la Pentecôte” with choreography by Jules Mueller. The program will include organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach and together with the members of the Byrd Ensemble, the mystical Berliner Messe by Arvo Pärt.

The Byrd Ensemble is a Seattle based vocal ensemble specializing in the performance of chamber vocal music. Since 2004, they have performed medieval, Renaissance, baroque, and modern music on an international stage. They are described as “pure and radiant” (Gramophone). The group is in residence at St. Mark’s Cathedral (Seattle) and director Obenza is an active singer and performer. He currently serves as choral director at Trinity Parish in Seattle.

Trinity Lutheran Church’s organ, opus 4, is a stunning 2-manual, 30-stop mechanical action instrument, noted for its glorious sound. It is housed in an Italianate style case of black walnut, in a fine acoustical environment. Every part of the instrument was built by Martin Pasi especially for this space and was installed in 1995 shortly after the new sanctuary was completed.

Suggested donation for this program is $15 for adults; seniors and students $10; or pay as you are able.
