The Meadowdale High School Arts and Music Boosters are joining forces to raise funds for the upcoming school year through a first-ever Mattress Event at the school Saturday, Oct. 17.
The curtains in the school’s Black Box Theatre are well beyond the point of repair. The Arts Booster Club was able to procure replacement curtains from the Edmonds School District with grant money. “Unfortunately, that money covers the curtain only, not the pulley system that would make opening and closing the curtains much easier, not to mention place less stress on the curtains so that they will have a nice, long lifespan,” the booster clubs noted in an announcement. “This pulley system comes with a price tag of over $10,000.”
On Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Custom Fundraising Solutions will set up their mobile mattress showroom at Meadowdale High School. There will be 25 styles on display, so people can come out and shop just like they would from a store. All styles, national name brand manufacturers (like Simmons), all sizes in a wide variety of price ranges, up to 50 percent less than standard retail. Mattresses are ordered direct from the manufacturers the day after the sale and delivery is available within a week or two.
All purchases support Meadowdale Performing Arts.
