With Edmonds’ median age approaching 50 years old, you know that our fair city has a grandparent story or two – but few stories this year will top that of local realtor and Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Tracy Cobbin.
My Edmonds News spotted his early morning Facebook post:
“Well looks like another grandchild came into the world this morning between 6:30 and 7 a.m. Born just off I-5 and Mercer exit. yea that’s right!
“He’s healthy and [the] mother is too! Who said it only happens in the movies. Congratulations guys!!”
The baby’s parents are Edmonds residents Jessie Cordova and Mike Tilton.
Evidently Jessie made an appointment with her health care provider yesterday because she was having mild contractions. She was given an injection and sent home for that interminable wait until the “right time” to return to the hospital.
Friday morning, Tracy and his wife Jana received a call that Jessie had woken up in full labor. The baby is coming!
Cobbin tells My Edmonds News that the young couple “grabbed the car keys and raced out the door!”
The morning commute might have gotten in the way because Cobbin tells us that “Mike called 911 just off the Mercer Street exit where paramedics arrived to help with the delivery.”
End of story? All involved parties are healthy and excited about this new baby boy.
