The City of Edmonds Public Works Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying those involved in two recent incidents of illegal tire dumping. On Sunday night, the tires were deposited in three locations around 76th Avenue West and Meadowdale Beach Road, and Monday night’s dumping took place in the 22300 block of 84th Avenue West, said the City’s Street/Storm Manager Tod Moles.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the dumping is asked to call 911.
Cannot miss the irony of this…….opposed to the legal tire dumping occurring in our city. This is an unfortunate situation, but it did provide a laugh.
+1
If they ground them up first, then it wouldn’t be such a big deal.
maybe the epa did that
Can’t we dump tires legally on our own personal property? After listening to 5 of our City Council members tonight and our Council President saying something about infringing on personal property rights, I guess we can expect more toxic waste tires around our city and that goes along with the wink, wink in my opinion with our government and the developers that tear down buildings and pretend that they live in them so nobody has to actually do a real certified abatement by a real professional……..happens all the time and saves $$$$$$ for them
Asbestos and now TOXIC WASTE dumped in our environment, right here in Edmonds. This City Council and Mayor should be ashamed of themselves…….I guess thats what our Mayor said not that long ago……something along the lines of every foot is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Well, we get it.
Yes, here is another laugh, our publisher tonight had a soccer game going on her computer during the Council meeting. about soccer fields and toxic crumb rubber.
How unenlightened this city is. We have Federal environmental laws (including asbestos in the environment laws!! and other toxic materials), but our goverment here seems to be more concerned about the money the city can make.
I just have to say wow! ………………kick the can down the road until we have some real proof with children dieing of cancer at some point. Oh yeah, and the irony of saving our salmon.
And I might add, another irony of building all these hospital facilities so everybody has access. Well, of course, they’re gonna need it.
Regarding the soccer game, I oversee live broadcasts of our local high school sports teams in partnership with the broadcast class at Mountlake Terrace HS, but couldn’t be at tonight’s game because of the council meeting. So I was monitoring in background to make sure the stream was operating properly for all those grandparents and other out-of-town viewers who couldn’t be at the game. Congrats to the EWHS girls for winning the first round of their state playoff game, BTW.

There is always the thought that “our” editor of MEN has the ability to multi-task; for which I am very grateful, as I enjoy the streaming soccer games. As for a person looking over ones shoulder at a City Council Meeting; I believe this person should be ashamed of themselves for being a “Peeping Tere”.
