Long-time Edmonds resident and Community Transit operator Walt Poirier is the lucky winner of this year’s classic pedal fire truck raffle, courtesy of the Edmonds-South Snohomish County Historical Society and Museum.

“We raffled off our first pedal fire truck five years ago,” said Museum Board president Bill Lambert. “It was so popular that we’ve continued the raffle each year. This year we sold almost 1,200 tickets.”

Tickets are sold during the Museum-sponsored Spring and Summer markets and at various other locations and events around town.

Poirier was beaming as he picked up the fire truck from Lambert on Tuesday morning.

“My 3-year-old grandson is really gonna love this,” he exclaimed.

And don’t be disappointed if you didn’t win. According to Lambert, there will be another pedal fire truck raffle next year.
